Caravanning nr. Helston Skyburriowe Farm Caravan Site

Why not experience a caravanning holiday near Helston Cornwall this year. Access roads down to Helston must be good as they have bus routes. Locate a good Caravanning site close to Helston, such as the one at Skyburriowe Farm with hook up if required and you are set to enjoy a good caravanning holiday.

Helston has a mixture of architecture and history with well known people having been borne there. Helston is also home to a very interesting museum displaying amongst other items, the history of Helston farming. Some of this may even relate to the caravanning site you where you are staying. Whilst in the area why not pop into the Blue Anchor and try the Spingo Ales but be warned they are tasty and strong and you could end up sitting in Helston’s kennels and leats. The Caravan Site has free Wi-Fi available.

When near a Helston caravan site you will discover a number of supermarkets where you can stock up on supplies for self catering. There is nothing more tantalising than the smell of bacon cooking and wafting out of the open caravan door drifting towards your nearest neighbour.

Breakfast always taste better when caravanning especially in the countryside surrounding Helston. Of course there is also the other end of the day when you just sit and relax with a G&T whilst watching the sun go down.

Just outside Helston is Penrose Park, in the care of the national Trust. Whilst the main house is occupied by the Rogers Family and is not open to the public, the grounds are. There is a pleasant walk through the grounds with the path running past the main house with its walled garden before routing itself past the coach house and on into the woods. The path follows the edge of Loe Pool, the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall and onwards to Low Bar and the sea.

On the far side of the Bar you will see a memorial cross commemorating the wreck of HMS Anson with the loss of many lives. There is an e-book written on this subject detailing the Anson’s history and the part it played in the development of Porthleven’s Harbour. Caravanning near Helston has much to offer as you can see so why not come and visit us.
