Campsites in
Helston with Skyburriowe Farm Camping
Living near Helston, I am often asked about camping
in the area. There are a number of working farms
offering camping
in Helston (or nearby) but my favourite
is Skyburriowe. This is a farm with both
Camping and caravanning pitches and is very near
to Helston. It can facilitate camping and caravanning
and while our caravan and camping
site is open to everyone there is a separate field
for The Caravan Club members. New hard surface roads
have just been laid giving easy access even in wet
weather.
The bustling market town of Helston (home of the
Floral Dance) is just two miles away from the historic
port of Porthleven. Helston has a mix of Georgian
and Victorian architecture and was once home to
Bob Fitzsimmons, the famous boxer. Helston fits
well into Cornwall’s Celtic myths, legends,
culture and heritage as can be seen when viewing
our Cornish screen saver.
There is DVD entitled
Porthleven to Penrose that gives an insight into
the Helton area. Helston is linked with Lizard Peninsula
where a number of working farms offering camping
sites can be discovered. Staying in a Helston
campsites you are not far from the roads linking
to Penzance, Falmouth and Truro. |
